Turkmen students and faculty embark on educational program in Malaysia

On July 15th of the current year, a delegation of students and faculty from the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University departed for Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) in Malaysia. Their purpose is to undertake training and advanced professional development. This visit is organized within the framework of a new Memorandum of Understanding, signed in 2024, which expands Turkmenistan's long-standing collaboration with the Malaysian company Petronas in the fields of science and education.

This cooperation holds significant importance for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan, particularly in key sectors such as the oil and gas and chemical industries, given the nation's abundant mineral resources.

The educational program encompasses the following:

• Specially Designed Curriculum: A two-week training program and a one-week advanced professional development course, specifically developed by Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS.

• Cutting-Edge Focus Areas: Sessions will cover the development of new technologies, the integration of digital technologies, and the application of artificial intelligence in industrial production.

• Practical Engagement: Participants will gain insight into the organization of studies, the operations of laboratories, research and development activities, and the production facilities of Petronas in Malaysia.

The educational and practical experience gained will enable students to augment their theoretical knowledge with practical skills, and empower faculty members to systematically integrate advanced global practices into their teaching activities, thereby contributing to the progress of Turkmenistan's educational system.
