Briefing on LLDC3 Conference held at UN Headquarters in New York
10.07.2025 | 23:35 |Preparations for the upcoming Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), which will be held in Turkmenistan from August 5 to 8, 2025, are entering the home stretch and are receiving international coverage. In this context, a joint press briefing was held on July 9 by Ambassador Aksoltan Atayeva, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations, and Rabab Fatima, UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (USG/OHRLLS).
The briefing was held in a hybrid format and was entirely dedicated to the upcoming forum. It presented in detail the programme of the Conference, its key and related events, as well as the Avaza resort itself, including the working and living conditions for delegates and other participants. Following the presentation, the speakers answered questions from journalists, which allowed for a comprehensive coverage of the nuances of the upcoming event.
Holding such a joint event at such a high level underlines the priority attention paid by the UN and Turkmenistan to the successful organization and significance of this Conference. It also demonstrates the close coordination and cooperation between the host country and the United Nations in ensuring a global dialogue on the development of landlocked countries.
