Oriented on making people closer

The Asian Junior and Youth Weightlifting Championships are currently underway in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Turkmen athletes have already made their mark, securing a total of six medals: one silver and five bronze.

In the 71 kg weight category, Kakamyrat Annamuradov distinguished himself. He lifted 128 kg in the snatch, earning a small bronze medal, and 160 kg in the clean and jerk, securing another small bronze. With a total of 288 kg in the snatch and clean and jerk combined, the Turkmen weightlifter claimed a large silver medal.

Ogulshat Amanova also performed successfully in the 53 kg weight category. She lifted 78 kg in the snatch and 96 kg in the clean and jerk, winning two small bronze medals. With a combined total of 174 kg, Amanova added another large bronze medal to the team's tally.

After the first three days of the championship, Turkmenistan's youth national team ranks sixth in the medal standings with one silver and five bronze awards.
