In Turkmenistan, an increase in transit cargo turnover has been recorded
20.05.2025 | 12:30 |Over the first four months of the current year, Turkmenistan demonstrated a notable increase in the volume of transit cargo transportation. From January to April, more than 2 million tons of cargo passed through the country's state border, which is almost 20% higher than the figures for the same period in 2024.
Road transit showed a particularly high growth rate of almost 25%. Rail freight transport also increased by 6%, according to the MIC (Ministry of Information and Communications).
This dynamic was facilitated by targeted efforts to modernize the country's transport and logistics infrastructure. The capacities of existing transport corridors were expanded, customs clearance procedures were optimized, and favorable conditions were created for the prompt delivery of goods.
The reconstruction of border crossing points also played a significant role. Thanks to the improvement of the technical base and the introduction of digital solutions, the throughput capacity increased, and the processing of transit cargo was accelerated.
