Day 2 of QACIS-2025: Focus on Industry Standards and Regional Integration
30.04.2025 | 16:20 |The second day of the International Conference “Quality Assurance in Accordance with International Standards in Turkmenistan” (QACIS-2025) is devoted to an in-depth discussion of the application of standards in key sectors of the economy and issues of regional cooperation in the field of trade, standardization and certification.
The working program of the day includes a number of specialized panel discussions:
Oil and Gas Industry: Participants discussed requirements for contractors, implementation of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards, ESG principles and sustainability standards, as well as successful examples of their application in practice.
Food Industry: The session was devoted to an overview of international safety and quality standards (ISO/FSSC 22000, HACCP, Halal, GMP), their importance for exports from Central Asia, specific requirements of the Middle East markets (including Halal standards) and environmental/social aspects of certification.
Textile and Light Industry: The discussion covered sustainable production and textile quality standards (Better Cotton Initiative, GOTS, OEKO-TEX, Fair Trade, SFA) and their impact on companies’ reputations and consumer trust.
IT and Startups: The panel focused on standards for growth and exports in the IT sector, information security management systems, process improvement methodologies (Agile, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen), as well as the role of digitalization, automation and AI.

Among the foreign participants are heads and experts of international certification and standardization bodies, representatives of large businesses, consultants on ESG, sustainable development, Halal and quality management, as well as specialists in export development and business support.
General picture of the second working day:
The second day of the QACIS-2025 conference is taking place in an atmosphere of deep immersion in the practical aspects of applying international standards. The transition from a plenary session to focused industry panels allowed for detailed discussion of specific challenges and opportunities for each sector.
The discussions are distinguished by a high level of expertise, thanks to the participation of both national leaders and a wide range of international specialists with specific experience in implementing standards in different countries and jurisdictions.
The final panel discussion on trade, standards, certification and accreditation in Central Asia was a logical conclusion, combining the knowledge gained in a regional context and outlining ways to jointly promote exports and overcome non-tariff barriers.
The day will end with the official closing of the conference, signing of documents and, which is especially important for the practical focus of the conference, individual meetings (B2B and B2G) and express consultations, providing participants with direct opportunities for networking and establishing business connections.
Thus, the second day of the conference became a platform for a detailed analysis of industry standards and strengthening regional cooperation, emphasizing the practical importance of quality assurance for the development of trade and attracting investment in Turkmenistan and Central Asia.
