A Briefing on the Concept of the International Year of Peace and Trust was held in Islamabad
29.01.2025 | 22:05 |A briefing for local media representatives was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan, dedicated to the Concept of Turkmenistan's activities and priorities within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust.
During the briefing, the participants were informed that, given the current international conditions, Turkmenistan advocates for the consolidation of international efforts to overcome the current crisis through a constructive platform and the creation of appropriate political-diplomatic preconditions and opportunities for this.
An important milestone on this path was the adoption by the UN General Assembly, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, of the resolution "International Year of Peace and Trust, 2025" which reflects the fundamental goals and principles of the UN Charter, particularly the obligation to resolve disputes through peaceful means and methods.
The participants of the briefing noted that this resolution is a practical embodiment of the philosophy of international relations "Dialogue is the guarantee of peace" promoted by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the briefing, participants were thoroughly introduced to the Concept, which outlines Turkmenistan's activities on security issues, the humanization of international relations, including within multilateral structures, related to the protection of refugees and stateless persons, support for motherhood and childhood, creating conditions for the comprehensive development of youth, and realizing their potential in science, creativity, and sports.
In essence, Turkmenistan's initiative is an invitation and a call to all states to begin joint work that includes political, ideological, and practical aspects of implementing peace and trust as a fundamental principle of the world order, as emphasized by the Turkmen diplomatic mission in Islamabad.
