An International March to the Sites of Military and Labor Glory begins in Belarus
29.01.2025 | 20:05 |The international “Star March” to the places of military and labor glory of the Belarusian people started on January 28 at the Museum and Park Complex "Victory" near the memorial dedicated to the citizens of all nationalities who liberated Belarus from Nazi occupation. The event is organized by students and faculty of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University (BSPU) named after Maxim Tank, with the aim of promoting civic and patriotic education among students, as well as preserving the memory of the Soviet people's heroism during the Great Patriotic War.
In previous years, students from foreign countries, including those from Armenia, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, have participated in the march. This year marks the 60th "Star March" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Soviet victory in the Great Patriotic War. During the march, students and faculty will meet with war and labor veterans, hold rallies, and lay flowers at the mass graves of soldiers and civilians who perished during the war. They will also visit historical sites and key enterprises in the districts.
Educational institutions will hold lessons of courage, roundtable discussions, training sessions, debates, masterclasses, and sports competitions, as well as patriotic-themed concerts. Foreign students participating in the march will have the opportunity to learn about Belarusian culture and traditions, share the history and customs of their own countries, visit memorial complexes and monuments, and learn about their fellow countrymen who participated in the liberation of Belarus.
