Samsung develops revolutionary blood sugar measurement technology
29.01.2025 | 14:35 |Samsung has unveiled a revolutionary non-invasive continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system. This achievement, long considered the "holy grail" of wearable electronics, could significantly impact the problem of diabetes worldwide. This was reported by Forbes magazine.
Dr. Park emphasized that the company is actively working on an algorithm that predicts early signs of diabetes, as well as a technology for non-invasive glucose monitoring and integrated nutritional recommendations within the CGM.
Unlike existing CGMs, such as devices from Lingo and Dexcom, which require invasive insertion of a sensor under the skin, Samsung's development uses an optical method. This makes the procedure significantly more comfortable and accessible to a wide range of users.
According to Dr. Park, the new CGM could become a "game-changer" in the wearable electronics market. He expressed confidence in the imminent completion of the development.
Some experts speculate that the new technology may debut as early as this year, possibly as part of the Galaxy Watch 8 (August 2025), although it is possible that the launch may be delayed until the release of the Galaxy Watch 9.
