A cooperation program between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan was signed in Tashkent
27.01.2025 | 23:15 |During a meeting between the foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in Tashkent on January 27, two documents were signed aimed at strengthening political, economic, and cultural ties. In particular, the heads of the foreign ministries signed a cooperation program for 2025-2026 and a protocol on improving the treaty and legal framework.
Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov discussed current issues of further development and strengthening of Turkmen-Uzbek relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership. The efforts of the leaders of the two countries, who have laid a solid and sustainable foundation for maintaining a positive trajectory of our bilateral relations, were especially noted.
Discussions covered all aspects of cooperation, both bilateral and multilateral. The schedule for 2025 promises to be dynamic, with a series of intensive exchanges planned at all levels and in various fields, according to a press release from the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Bakhtiyor Saidov congratulated on the beginning of the International Year of Peace and Trust, initiated by Turkmenistan.
The parties exchanged verbal notes on supporting each other's candidacies in international organizations.
