 Quanzhou welcomes global media giants to VMF-2024

The 12th Global Video Media Forum (VMF-2024) was inaugurated in Quanzhou, a city situated on the eastern coast of China's Fujian Province.

Organized by China Media Group (CMG) and China Global Television Network (CGTN) in collaboration with the Fujian Provincial Government and the Quanzhou Municipal Administration, the forum has brought together leaders and representatives from leading media outlets worldwide. Among the attendees are news agencies such as Reuters, Associated Press, delegations the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union led by its Secretary-General Ahmed Nadim, the African Union of Broadcasting, the Arab States Broadcasting Union, and media representatives from Central Asia and Latin America.

Turkmen delegation, including a representative from the "Media Turkmen" news agency (ORIENT.TM website), is also participating in this significant media industry event.

The forum was opened by Li Shulei, Head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The forum will feature panel discussions, with one of the primary topics being the impact of artificial intelligence on the media. This theme will be explored by representatives of technology companies such as ENEX Group, software developers Octopus Newsroom , CMG Digital, Europe Exchange and others.

A joint initiative titled "Global South" for media dialogue and cooperation will be launched at the forum, and a number of partnership agreements will be signed.

The "Media Turkmen" news agency actively collaborates with leading Chinese media outlets. In 2019, a memorandum of cooperation was signed, facilitating the exchange of information with media giants China Daily and CCTV+.

In turn, Chinese representatives have highly praised the contributions of the "Media Turkmen" news agency to the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and China in the field of communications.
