The expansion of commodity flows through the North–South MTC was discussed at a meeting of the CIS Transport Business Dialogue
26.01.2024 | 13:17 |The second meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States Transport Business Dialogue was held in Moscow. This is reported on the website of the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting was organized by the CIS Business Center for Economic Development Association, the International Coordinating Council for Trans–Eurasian Transportation and the Executive Committee of the Coordinating Transport Meeting of the Commonwealth Member States.
The discussions focused on the implementation of innovative solutions in the transport, logistics and customs spheres, the development of the North-South MTC, the possibility of expanding commodity flows along this route and removing barriers to movement along it. The participants also considered the prospects for improving the infrastructure of waterways, railways and highways.
Deputy Secretary General of the CIS Ilkhom Nematov noted that cooperation in the transport sector remains the basis for economic development and deepening integration processes in the Commonwealth.
It should be noted that at the 100th meeting of the CIS Economic Council, an Action Plan for optimizing infrastructure and developing international transport corridors passing through the territories of the CIS member states for the period up to 2030.
