Oriented on making people closer

The awarding ceremony of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the Arkadag medal took place at the Oguzhan Palace Complex on Tuesday, October 10, on the Day of Healthcare Workers and the country's Medical Industry. The ceremony was attended by the chairman of the Mejlis of the country, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, it was reported in the evening news release of the Turkmen State Television.

Speaker of the National Parliament Dunyagozel Gulmanova read out the decision of the Mejlis to award President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the Arkadag medal.

This state award of Turkmenistan was established for the purpose of broad support of humane initiatives, respect for achievements, accumulated experience, international authority of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship.

The award is awarded for a worthy contribution to the implementation of state social policy, the protection of human rights and legitimate interests, the promotion of participation in the life of society and the state of persons in need of guardianship, especially children, in the work of public, humanitarian, charitable bodies, public health, the development of the volunteer movement, the protection of motherhood and childhood.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was awarded this high award for providing legal guarantees for the protection and legitimate interests of the people, implementing a set of organizational, legal and economic measures aimed at adapting children in need of special care and social support in society, special merits in the development of charitable activities, the implementation of the principles of humanism, justice and mutual assistance in the country, constant support activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship.

The Chairman of the Mejlis solemnly presented the Arkadag medal to the President.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the presentation of the high state award of Turkmenistan, noting that he considers it an appreciation of charitable activities based on national traditions. Through the efforts of the national leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Foundation carries out noble humanitarian activities. Residential houses are being built in the country for those in special need, the head of state stressed, assuring that the government, together with the Fund, will continue this work in the future.

During the celebration, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov made a speech, congratulating the head of state on the award, noting that one of the priorities of Turkmenistan's domestic and foreign state policy is its humanistic orientation. In this regard, it was noted that the head of state is doing a lot of work to provide social benefits to citizens of the country and create the most favorable living conditions.
