Turkmen sambo wrestlers became bronze medalists of the II Games of the CIS countries
13.08.2023 | 15:28 |Two Turkmen athletes, Batyr Hojamukhammedov and Madina Aydogdyeva, became bronze medalists in sambo at the II Games of the CIS countries in Belarus.
Batyr Khodjamukhammedov performed in the heaviest weight category - over 98 kg. He defeated Kyrgyzstani Syimyk Zhaparov and took third place.
Madina Aydogdyeva fought in the light weight category - up to 59 kg. She showed a high level of skill and defeated Kazakhstani Marzhan Bizak, winning a bronze medal.
SAMBO competitions at the II Games of the CIS countries were held in Zhlobin (Republic of Belarus) on August 12 and 13. Athletes from 10 countries took part in them. In total, 14 sets of awards were played in different weight categories.
II Games of the CIS countries are held in Belarus from 4 to 14 August in 20 sports. More than 2.2 thousand athletes, representing more than 20 states, take part in them. The solemn closing ceremony will take place on August 13 at the “Minsk Arena”.
It should be noted that the national team of Turkmenistan was placed on the seventh line in terms of the total number of medals at the II Games of the CIS countries in Belarus. The Turkmen team now has 16 awards (3 silver and 13 bronze medals).
