Turkmenistan Officially Moves June 8 Holiday to June 9 in Honor of Kurban Bayram
30.05.2025 | 16:25 |In Turkmenistan, Kurban Bayram will be celebrated on June 6, 7, and 8. In connection with this and in accordance with Article 81 of Turkmenistan's Labor Code regarding holidays and memorial days, the June 8 holiday (Sunday) is moved to Monday, June 9. This was reported by Turkmenistan's official media.
The decree was signed by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The document was adopted "to preserve the original spiritual and moral values of the Turkmen people and to consistently enhance national traditions and customs."
All institutions, enterprises, and organizations, regardless of ownership form, are instructed to ensure the implementation of this decree.
Kurban Bayram is one of the main Muslim holidays, celebrated annually in Turkmenistan.
