 The Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Tbilisi met with the director of the Georgian Center of Manuscripts

The popularization of the national heritage and cultural values of the peoples of Turkmenistan and Georgia was discussed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Georgia Dovletmyrat Myratov and Zaal Abashidze, Director of the Georgian National Center of Manuscripts named after Korneli Kekelidze. The meeting took place on Tuesday in Tbilisi, according to the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The sides also discussed issues of further deepening and strengthening of bilateral scientific and educational cooperation between the countries. The Turkmen diplomat said that the International Organization of Turkic Culture declared the year 2024 "The Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world - Makhtumkuli Fragi." He noted that preparations are currently underway to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen classic at the international level, which is a clear indication that the poet's creative heritage is the heritage of all mankind.

Zaal Abashidze, in turn, stressed that fruitful cooperation between the Magtymguly National Institute of Language, Literature and Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the Georgian National Center for Manuscripts will contribute to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.

The participants of the meeting agreed to regularly hold mutual international conferences, exhibitions, as well as various cultural events both in Turkmenistan and in Georgia, the message says.
