Oriented on making people closer

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Austria Khemra Amannazarov the country's permanent representative at the UN headquarters in Vienna and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), as well as the head of the delegation of Turkmenistan to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

The ceremony of awarding the state award of Turkmenistan – the "Galkynysh" order ("Rebirth") – to Uzbek diplomats took place on Friday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after the completion of the round of Turkmen-Uzbek political consultations.

Turkmenistan Airlines has resumed regular flights between Turkmenistan and Germany, the airline told ORIENT. Flights are operated every Wednesday and Saturday on the Ashgabat – Frankfurt – Turkmenabat route, as confirmed to our correspondent at the point of sale of air tickets in Ashgabat.

The delegation of the transport complex of Turkmenistan held a working meeting on cooperation in the fields of logistics, transport, trade and shipbuilding during a business visit to the Astrakhan region on Wednesday.

New ambassadors of two European countries – Romania and Germany – have started their work in Turkmenistan. On Tuesday, they presented copies of their credentials to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.

On Tuesday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov flew around the new buildings of Ashgabat, also assessing the progress of improvement in a number of districts of the capital, after which the projects of new facilities were presented to the head of state.

Dr. Zalmay Khalilzad, former U.S. Special Envoy for Reconciliation in Afghanistan, and his wife Dr. Cheryl Benard visited Ashgabat.

New Ambassador of Turkmenistan to France, Maksat Charyev, presented copies of his credentials to Philippe Franck, Director of State Protocol and Diplomatic Events at the Elysee Palace of France.

A briefing was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, at which the main results of the Conference of Ministers of Transport of Landlocked Developing Countries, held on August 15-16 in Turkmenbashi, were considered.

On Sunday, members of the government of Turkmenistan and the leadership of the transport and communications department of the country held a series of bilateral meetings with heads of delegations and high-ranking representatives of different countries and international organizations.
