Oriented on making people closer

As part of the business program of the international transport forum in Ashgabat, bilateral and multilateral negotiations were held between representatives of transport departments and organizations of various countries.

On the sidelines of the conference "International Transport and Transit Corridors: interconnection and development" in Ashgabat, local and foreign companies were awarded for their contribution to the development of the transport and transit potential of Turkmenistan.

A solid package of bilateral documents was signed today by the heads of state transport agencies and enterprises of Turkmenistan with foreign partners and heads of foreign companies at the conference "International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development" in Ashgabat.

Turkmenistan stands for the realization and unification of the transport potentials of the countries of the region in order to achieve the strategic goal of creating a modern infrastructure capable of uniting the transport systems of Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

On July 18, Ms. Renata Wrobel, EU Delegation Chargé d'affaires a.i. delivered an opening statement during the national workshop organized by the Ready4Trade Central Asia project funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Trade Center (ITC).

The coronavirus pandemic clearly demonstrated the colossal importance of Turkmenistan as an important transport and transit hub for the region, said the representative of the International Transporters Association (UND Turkey) at a profile conference in Ashgabat, who presented the report of Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Association Alper Ozel.

The special importance of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway, which is part of the international North-South transport corridor, was noted by Miroslav Antonovich, Chairman of the Committee of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways (OSJD), joining the international forum on transport and transit corridors held in Ashgabat online.

Tatarstan's foreign economic relations are largely determined by long-standing traditions of interaction with Islamic states, said Elena Agzamova, adviser to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan, speaking online at the Ashgabat transport forum on Monday.

Representatives of state structures for transport of Turkmenistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkey are holding a working meeting in Ashgabat on the creation of transport corridors within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization.

At the moment, Turkmenistan provides 53 air routes for flying over the territory of the country and in recent years 16 new routes have been opened that allow airlines to reduce the cost of flights, Chairman of the Agency "Turkmenhowayollary" Dovran Saburov said, speaking at the international transport forum in Ashgabat.
