Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Maulvi Amir Khan Mottaki set off to Turkmenistan with a high-level delegation. This was reported by Pajhwok with reference to a statement by an official representative of the Afghan Foreign Ministry today.

The Afghan TV company TOLOnews, referring to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country, reported that seven agreements on the TAPI gas pipeline with project partners would be signed in the near future.

The Afghan Interior Ministry said that the completion of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project is not a security threat, but a special unit will be formed to calm down the countries involved.

Acting Minister of Mines and Oil Shahabuddeen Delavar said Saturday that the TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) gas pipeline project will practically be launched in the second half of this year.

The Turkmen delegation, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Khadzhiev, who is on a visit to Afghanistan, held on Saturday, January 8, meetings with Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Foreign Minister Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, Minister of Mining and Petroleum Products Shahabuddin Delaware, as well as with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Movlyavi Sader Azan.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Khadzhiyev arrived in the western Afghan province of Herat to discuss the revitalization of work on the TAPI project, said in a statement Friday, Pajhwok Afghan News reports.
