The International Exhibition "Healthcare, Education, and Sports" Opens in Ashgabat
10.10.2025 | 10:25 |Ashgabat, October 10 | ORIENT. The International Exhibition "Healthcare, Education, and Sports in the Era of Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State" opened at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. Timed to Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers' Day, this large-scale event brought together experts and companies from many countries.
The grand opening of the exhibition was marked by an address from President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to forum participants and industry workers. The messages clearly articulated the main priority of state policy: "The health, well-being, and happy life of our people form the foundation of our activities."
The President emphasized that the country's healthcare, education, and sports systems are currently undergoing significant development. This growth was a direct continuation of the reforms initiated by National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, 30 years ago with the adoption of the State Program “Saglyk” (“Health”).
The program's scale is impressive: alongside existing centers, construction is underway at an accelerated pace on a 160-bed International Pediatric Center, a 500-bed International Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center, and a new Dental Center in Ashgabat. Meanwhile, a medical cluster is operating and expanding in the city of Arkadag, and new modern treatment, preventive, and diagnostic centers are being built in the regions.
Innovation and Breakthrough: From Telemedicine to Smart Manufacturing
The exhibition will demonstrate how these investments are being translated into practical steps. Today, Turkmenistan is committed to implementing cutting-edge methods and innovative practices, which have enabled it to bring its healthcare system up to global standards.
The introduction of telemedicine and teleconsultations, and the expansion of scientific and medical cooperation with the WHO and leading global centers are not just empty promises. This is a strategic course that is already bearing fruit.
The Arkadag Medisina Klasteri Menejment enterprise, launched in the city of Arkadag, has established the production of various medical products using environmentally friendly local raw materials, which will occupy a significant niche in global markets.
The extensive work of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation provides social support and treatment for hundreds of children in need.
Three Pillars of Development: Health, Knowledge, and Sport
The reforms are aimed at bringing the education system up to international standards, including the transition to a 12-year secondary education system and the development of a digital system. The construction of new educational facilities equipped with modern technologies is key to nurturing young people with a broad outlook and a passion for innovative technologies.
Turkmenistan is also confirming its status as a country of sport. International recognition of the country's initiatives (the United Nations Games Resolution, the declaration of Ashgabat as the "City of New Sports Opportunities of the CIS") demonstrates widespread support for sports reforms and the development of the Olympic movement.
International Showcase of Achievements
The current forum will include the 11th Congress of Cardiologists of Turkic-Speaking States, the International Congress of Physiologists of Central Asian Countries, and the International Conference of Oncologists of Eurasian States.
These specialized congresses will provide a unique platform for the exchange of experience and dialogue between national and international experts.
The exhibition itself, which runs until October 12, will showcase the latest developments in medical equipment, high-precision diagnostic technologies, and innovative solutions in education and sports, underscoring Turkmenistan's commitment to strengthening the health of the nation and the well-being of its citizens.
