WhatsApp Launched Automatic Translation for Incoming Messages

WhatsApp announced the launch of an automatic message translation feature, which allows users to instantly receive incoming texts in their chosen language.

The company stated that message privacy is preserved during translation, with all operations performed directly on the user's device. WhatsApp does not have access to the texts.

The feature began rolling out to Android and iPhone users on Sept. 23. At launch, Android users can select from six languages: English, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian and Arabic. iPhone users are initially offered more than 19 languages, with the list expected to grow.

According to developers, the new feature is designed to facilitate communication between people from different regions and reduce language barriers.
