Turkmenistan's Education Ministry and UNICEF Expand Inclusive Education
25.09.2025 | 10:45 |UNICEF, in partnership with Turkmenistan's Ministry of Education and social protection partners, is expanding the implementation of inclusive education in pilot schools and kindergartens across the country.
From Sept. 14-20, teachers and specialists from these institutions worked with national and international experts to create a more accessible educational environment. The new approaches aim to form classes and groups where every child, including those with disabilities and special needs, can learn, play and develop on equal terms.
As part of the initiative, teachers and school principals are receiving training in modern inclusion methods. Schools are being equipped with adjustable desks and chairs, and parents are actively being involved in the educational process. An important element is the use of play-based and culturally sensitive teaching methods.
Additionally, the system for early detection and support of children with special educational needs is being strengthened. This creates additional conditions for their successful socialization and the realization of their potential in the country's educational institutions.
