Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan Discussed Cooperation with AQA Global
18.09.2025 | 17:00 |Today, September 18, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan held a meeting with a delegation from the British company AQA Global Assessment Services. The delegation included Sean Crowley, Director of International Development; Anna Green, Director of Assessment Systems; and Wali Huseyn, Regional Consultant.
During the meeting, the parties discussed strategic partnership to improve the quality of education, as well as enhancing the student assessment system in line with the needs of the labor market.
AQA’s international experience and its significance
AQA Global has implemented numerous projects around the world, including in Central Asian countries. Its expertise covers the following areas:
• implementation of national certification systems;
• standardization of qualifications;
• digitalization of testing;
• methodological support for educational reforms.
For example, in Uzbekistan, the company helped develop a new assessment model for high schools, while in Kazakhstan it assisted in introducing a criterion-based assessment system for graduates. This approach increases trust in diplomas and certificates, and helps align qualifications with employer requirements.
Future directions of cooperation
During the negotiations, the following areas of cooperation were identified:
• studying AQA’s experience in organizing examination platforms and certification;
• introducing digital solutions for analyzing educational outcomes;
• joint development of assessment and qualification standards;
• methodological support for teachers.
Special attention was paid to planning educational systems based on international standards. This will help build a sustainable and effective model for carrying out future reforms.
