Turkmen Delegation Took Part in an International Seminar in Astana
15.09.2025 | 16:30 |From September 9 to 12, a delegation from the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev made a working visit to Astana, where they participated in a four-day seminar. The event was dedicated to issues of sustainable development and the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into education and the professional sphere.
The seminar was held at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was organized within the framework of the major international Erasmus+ project “Uniting Environmental Issues, Societal Needs and Effective Governance in Education and Employment in Central Asia” (ESGCA).
The main goal of the project is to modernize higher education in the region by creating new master’s programs and courses based on ESG standards.
During the working sessions, relevant topics such as the “green transition,” environmental reporting, and modern technologies for environmental protection were discussed. The event brought together more than 130 participants, including representatives of government bodies, the academic community, and business.
The Turkmen representatives actively participated in the discussions, emphasizing the importance of integrating ESG principles into the curricula of Turkmen universities. The visit helped to strengthen cooperation with European partners and opened new opportunities for interaction in the field of sustainable development.
