Bitaraplyk village: how life in rural areas of Turkmenistan is changing
11.09.2025 | 23:31 |On September 11, on the eve of Independence Day of Turkmenistan, a new village of Bitaraplyk opened in the Kunyaurgench etrap, which has become an example of integrated development of rural areas. The new settlement creates conditions for comfortable living, strengthening social infrastructure and revitalizing the region's economy.
The village has 400 modern residential buildings, a school for 420 children, a kindergarten for 160 children, a health center, a community center for 200 children and a banquet hall for 500 people. In addition, there is a shopping center, a consumer services center, a post office, a fire station and a landscaped park.
Experts note that such projects transform rural areas, making them attractive for living and working. Comfortable houses with modern equipment, developed infrastructure and recreation areas create conditions that allow people to stay in their native places, and young people to get an education and engage in cultural and sports activities.
An important effect is also the development of the transport network: new bridges ensure uninterrupted traffic, improving the accessibility of the village and stimulating economic ties with neighboring regions.
According to urbanists, an integrated approach to the construction of new settlements, like in Bitaraplyk, helps to equalize the standard of living between the city and the countryside, introduce modern technologies in construction and the social sphere, and form new centers of activity in the country.
The village of Bitaraplyk has become not only a new address for residents of the northern region, but also a symbol of how state policy on rural development affects the quality of life, social cohesion and prospects for economic growth in the regions.
Earlier this week, a ceremonial opening of the new village of Dovletli Mekan was held in the Akhal velayat.
Another new settlement, the opening of which is timed to the festivities on the occasion of Independence Day, will be the village of Bagtly in the Akhal velayat.
