 The Council of Elders of Turkmenistan discussed key tasks and accepted new members

On August 19, a regular meeting of the Council of Elders under the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation to provide assistance to children in need of care was held in the capital's Palace of Congresses. The event was organized on behalf of Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The agenda included issues related to the current activities of the Council members, their role in public life and upcoming tasks. Special attention was paid to the work of the elders in the field.

During the meeting, the importance of elders' participation in the public life of the country, especially in youth work, was emphasized. It was noted that their rich life experience helps in educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, humanism and civic responsibility. The emphasis was also placed on their role in supporting and strengthening unity in families and society. A separate topic of discussion was the work of the Council of Elders at the Charitable Foundation to provide assistance to children in need of custody. The participants noted the commitment to national principles of humanism and stressed that caring for children left without parental care is one of the priorities.

During the meeting, the issue of admission of new members to the Council of Elders was considered. Based on proposals from local councils of the Khalk Maslakhaty and public organizations, three new members were nominated and unanimously elected: Meretgeldi Gulgeldiev (from Ashgabat), Italmaz Saparliev (from Ashgabat) and Kakajan Tashliev (from Arkadag city).

All of them expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them and assured that they would do their best to justify it and contribute to the development of the country.
