Oriented on making people closer

The international conference "TESOL: Technology, Teaching, and Transformation" opened in Ashgabat on Tuesday. The event, organized as part of the English Language Learning Capacity Building Program (ELCD) with the support of the U.S. Embassy, brought together 250 teachers from all over Turkmenistan.

The conference, held at the International University of Humanities and Development, is organized by the International Association TESOL (Teachers of English for speakers of other languages) and the company QED Group, LLC. Its main goal is to provide Turkmen educators with access to the latest innovations, strategies and trends in the field of English language teaching, as well as to create a platform for the exchange of experience.

Over the course of three days, participants will attend presentations by six American and five local experts. Among them are recognized professionals and scientists such as Dr. Beth Clark—Gareca, Dr. Manuel Gomez Portillo and Lisa Mann, who will share their experience in the use of technology, interactive methods and curriculum development.

Of particular importance are the presentations of local experts such as Sulgun Saryeva, Bahar Bakhbidova, Maksatmyrat Illamanov, Dr. Meretguly Gurbanov and Gibran Khudaiberdiev. Their participation highlights the growing professionalism of Turkmen teachers and their willingness to implement advanced techniques.

In their reports, they will touch upon such topical themes as the creation of "talking classes", improving communication competence and the use of technology for learning.

The TESOL: Technology, Teaching, and Transformation conference not only provides teachers with practical tools for their work, but also promotes international cooperation. The event opens the doors for the introduction of new technologies into the educational process, which is critically important in the context of global digitalization.
