Nature Conservation Society of Turkmenistan invites people to take part in the trees planting campaign
26.02.2021 | 11:52 |New trees are planted in the cities of Turkmenistan. As was reported previously, the Decree on planting 30 million young trees on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Since the beginning of 2021, the Nature Conservation Society of Turkmenistan has donated about 10000 tree seedlings grown in its own nurseries to the members of its organization.
Planting of trees has a positive effect on the ecological situation in big cities. Improving the microclimate of the environment, green spaces prevent air pollution, release phytoncides that kill pathogenic bacteria and microorganisms, and protect the soil from excessive overheating in summer. Poplar is one of the leaders in generating oxygen.
The fast-growing tree is popular with Turkmen farmers who are planting the Lombardy poplar around crop fields. Coniferous trees, which are so popular in Ashgabat and other cities of the country, are also a source of oxygen. Among other things, coniferous bushes planted along the roadway are able to absorb the noise generated by vehicles.
- In 2020, our organization donated about 200 thousand tree seedlings to the members of the Nature Conservation Society, the overwhelming majority of which were conifers”, says Merdan Arazmedov, employee of the general department of the Nature Conservation Society of Turkmenistan. - Recently, we provided rose seedlings for “Clean Cities”, our project partner. In greenery nurseries, located in all regions of the country, we are growing both deciduous and fruit trees, providing organizations and individuals with seedlings free of charge for planting in their plots.
Every resident of the country can join the Nature Conservation Society of Turkmenistan and take an active part in the trees planting campaign. To do this, you have to contact the organization, providing an application, a copy of your passport and a membership fee. Additional information can be obtained by calling +993 12 931727.
Having become part of a large team, a person gets the opportunity to participate on an ongoing basis in eco-actions held in Turkmenistan, contributing to the improvement of the urban environment. After all, the concept “love for the Homeland” also implies care of the environment.
Anyone who is not indifferent to the fate of natural heritage, its preservation and further development can show themselves in trees planting campaigns.
