Authoritative Figures Welcome the Turkmen-Russian Concert "Music of Peace..." in Moscow
12.08.2025 | 01:07 |On August 15, a large-scale Russian-Turkmen concert will take place in Moscow under the symbolic title "Music of Peace, Music of Friendship and Brotherhood". This event is conceived as a bright symbol of cooperation and mutual understanding, designed to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries. Artists from Ashgabat will arrive in the Russian capital to fill the hearts of listeners with music together with their Russian colleagues.
A special tone to this musical evening is given by the welcoming addresses from famous diplomats and cultural figures, who, like the musicians themselves, are convinced of the power of art and talent.
"Music always comes from the heart and always knows how to find a way to another heart," notes Vladimir Kuznetsov, Director of the UN Information Center in Moscow. He also stressed that the United Nations "is convinced that art in general and music in particular have the power to unite nations, inspire people, break down racial and political barriers, combat discrimination and smooth over conflicts." According to him, such events help the UN "to confront alienation."
The concert is taking place in a year of several significant events. This is the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality and the declaration of 2025 by the United Nations, on the initiative of Ashgabat, as the International Year of Peace and Trust. This is the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, which, as Vladimir Kuznetsov notes, paved the way for the creation of the UN.
"For us, Turkmen diplomats working in Moscow, it is especially significant that these events are widely and solemnly celebrated in Russia, and enjoy the support and assistance of our Russian partners," Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation Esen Aydogdyev said. He also added: "We highly appreciate this and consider it evidence of genuine friendship, mutual understanding and respect, which characterize the relations between the two countries and peoples."
The title of the concert echoes the book of National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov "Music of Peace, Music of Friendship and Brotherhood." As acting Rector of the Moscow Conservatory Alexander Sokolov, the book tells the story of the legendary storyteller Shukur-bakhshi, who, instead of war, offered the enemies of his Fatherland a musical competition and won it.
"Let this image, reflecting the desire for peace, unite the musicians and the concert audience!" Alexander Sokolov urges. He also added that the name of the outstanding composer Nury Khalmamedov, a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, whose music will be performed at the evening, is "one of the important links connecting the cultures of our peoples."
In his greeting, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Vasily Tsereteli also emphasized that the name of the concert is deeply symbolic, and its timeliness is due to both the 80th anniversary of the Victory and the proclamation of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.
Currently, the event organizers are focused on the final stages of preparation, including the publication of an illustrated booklet for the concert. It will also include welcoming addresses from famous diplomats and cultural representatives, whom we briefly quoted today as an illustration of the mutual desire to strengthen the cultural dialogue between Russia and Turkmenistan.
So, the concert “Music of Peace, Music of Friendship and Brotherhood” will become not just a solemn event, but a visible and “audible” embodiment of intertwined creative connections that will always remain a sincere conversation, understandable to everyone without words.
