In Ashgabat, informative seminars were held for schoolchildren in anticipation of Children's Day
22.05.2025 | 20:11 |Ahead of International Children's Day, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Office in Turkmenistan, in collaboration with national partners, conducted a series of educational seminars for young residents of the capital. The events took place on May 16th, 20th, and 21st at secondary schools №130, №29, and №4 in the city of Ashgabat, with the participation of representatives from key ministries and agencies of the country, including the Ministries of Education and Culture, the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, as well as the Office of the Ombudsman.
The primary objective of these meetings was to enhance the knowledge and awareness of schoolchildren regarding their rights as enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the national legislation of Turkmenistan. During the interactive seminars, important information was presented to the children in an accessible manner, utilizing visual video materials and presentations. This format made the learning process engaging and memorable.
The seminars concluded with a pleasant moment – each young participant received commemorative gifts, which served as a symbol of attention and care for the younger generation. These events became further evidence of the consistent work of Turkmenistan and international organizations in protecting the rights and interests of children, fostering legal literacy from a young age, and creating favorable conditions for their comprehensive development.
