 President of Uzbekistan received heads of parliamentary delegations of Central Asian countries

On April 7, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received heads of parliamentary delegations of Central Asian countries who arrived in Tashkent to participate in the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The joint meeting was attended by Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova, Chairman of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Koshanov, Toraga of the Zhogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Republic of Tajikistan Faizali Idizoda.

The distinguished guests conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the leaders of their countries to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, especially noting the importance of the international event, which is being held in our region for the first time.

The issues of further strengthening and deepening the relations of friendship, good-neighborliness, strategic partnership and alliance between the fraternal countries were discussed.

A high assessment was given to the fruitful results of the first summit "Central Asia - European Union" and the Climate Forum held on April 4 in the city of Samarkand.

Intensive contacts at the highest and high levels were noted with particular satisfaction. The historical nature of the recent meetings in the region was emphasized, including the full settlement of border delimitation issues and the signing of the Treaty on the junction point of the state borders of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in the city of Khujand.

In recent years, trade turnover between countries in the region has increased dozens of times, and border trade zones are being created.

Cooperation projects in various sectors of the economy, including in the regions of our countries, are being successfully implemented. Programs of intensive cultural and educational cooperation are being implemented.

During the meeting, the importance of strengthening parliamentary dialogue, including at the committee level, was emphasized to bring the two countries and peoples closer together, promote joint initiatives and cooperation projects, expand interregional contacts and humanitarian exchanges, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said.
