 The Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan held meetings with representatives of Turkey

National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a number of key meetings with high-ranking representatives of the Republic of Turkey on March 19, which became evidence of the deepening of the multifaceted economic partnership between the two fraternal countries. The meetings took place within the framework of the International Conference “International Year of Peace and Trust: The Role of Interregional Economic Cooperation in Ensuring Sustainable Development”, held in Ashgabat.

Thus, the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty met with Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar and CEO of the Turkish state oil and gas company “Botaş” Abdulvahid Fidan. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov welcomed the Turkish delegation, emphasizing the importance of their participation in the international forum.

Minister Bayraktar conveyed warm greetings from the President of Turkey and noted Turkmenistan's initiative in declaring 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. The importance of the initiatives and recommendations voiced by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum was also noted, TDH reports.

The parties discussed the enormous potential for developing cooperation in the fuel and energy, transport and communications and investment sectors at the bilateral and regional levels. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov spoke about Turkmenistan's policy aimed at modernizing the fuel and energy sector and diversifying energy export routes. He confirmed the country's readiness to further intensify partnership with Turkey in the energy sector, highlighting the issue of exporting Turkmen natural gas to Turkey and then to Europe. The current swap agreement for gas transportation via Iran was mentioned, as well as the prospects for exporting electricity via the Caspian Sea after the commissioning of the power plant under construction.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people also met with Chairman of the Board of the Turkish construction holding company Rönesans Holding Erman Ilicak. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the long-term fruitful cooperation with the company, which has implemented a number of major projects in Turkmenistan that have made a significant contribution to the development of the country's construction and industrial potential. The Head of the Khalk Maslakhaty highly appreciated the company's activities and confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to continue the partnership.

Erman Ilicak expressed gratitude for the trust and emphasized that the participation of Rönesans Holding in projects in Turkmenistan is a great honor for the company. He noted that the implemented projects contribute to the modernization of infrastructure and improvement of the life of the population.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people also met with Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Çalyk Holding Group of Companies, Ahmet Çalyk, who informed about the company's current construction projects in Turkmenistan. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the important role of large Turkish companies, including Çalyk Holding, in activating and improving the partnership. The healthcare, manufacturing and energy facilities built and commissioned by the company, equipped with advanced technologies, were noted. The opening of the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology and the International Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ashgabat by Gap Inşaat (part of Çalyk Holding) was particularly mentioned, which became another evidence of the strengthening of Turkmen-Turkish relations. Ahmet Çalık expressed gratitude for the trust shown to the company in the implementation of such large-scale projects. The National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed confidence that the Turkish company will continue to apply advanced technologies in its activities in Turkmenistan.

These high-level meetings confirmed the strategic importance of the multifaceted partnership between Turkmenistan and Turkey, covering key sectors of the economy and contributing to the sustainable development of regional cooperation.
