Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan discuss prospects for cooperation in social protection
28.02.2025 | 11:00 |On February 27th, a video conference took place between Mansurbek Olloyorov, Director of the National Social Protection Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Muhammetseyit Sylapov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Turkmenistan. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on pressing issues of social protection and discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The Uzbek side provided information on ongoing initiatives to support socially vulnerable population groups, achieved results, and future plans. Particular attention was paid to the digitalization of the social sphere, enhancing the effectiveness of social assistance, and developing a system of social services.
Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached on joint work in several key areas, including improving mechanisms for supporting the population, exchanging experience in the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities, and implementing modern technologies in the social sphere. The Agency Director invited the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Turkmenistan to visit Uzbekistan to get acquainted with ongoing projects and continue substantive dialogue. The meeting was conducted in a constructive and business-like atmosphere.
