The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held talks with the advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan
05.02.2025 | 22:30 |On February 5, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held a meeting with the Japanese delegation headed by the Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, Akihisa Nagashima.
During the talks, current issues of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation across a wide range of areas were discussed. It was emphasized that special importance in expanding bilateral relations is placed on high-level dialogue, which is based on mutual respect and trust.
The parties exchanged views on upcoming events involving both countries. In this context, particular attention was given to the participation of the Turkmen delegation in the World Expo EXPO 2025, which will be held in Osaka, and the organization of National Day of Turkmenistan within the event.
Regarding trade and economic partnership, the parties stressed that Turkmenistan and major Japanese companies have accumulated years of experience working together in various sectors, including the gas industry and chemical manufacturing. As an important mechanism for cooperation, the participants of the meeting highlighted the Turkmen-Japanese and Japanese-Turkmen Committees on Economic Cooperation.
Additionally, issues related to preparations for the Summit of Heads of State of the "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue were discussed, as reported in the press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
