Belarus creates world's first feature-length animated film using AI

Belarus has created the world's first feature-length animated film using artificial intelligence, reports BelTA.

The film, "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" (Belovezhskaya Forest), produced by the Belarusian studio Arteki, is a captivating adventure comedy with elements of fantasy about friendship, family, and the power of nature. It is distinguished by its authenticity and filled with pleasant music, kindness, and humor.

The idea for the film originated with one of the project's directors, who was inspired by the song "Belovezhskaya Pushcha". The film's trailer was created within 24 hours, after which the entire team realized that a full-length project was necessary.

Oleg Atyakshev, Director of Arteki Studio and one of the project's producers, stated that the trailer touched many hearts. Everyone wanted to see what kind of story it could be in a full-length format.

Creating a film using artificial intelligence significantly shortens the production process. While classic production of a feature-length animated film takes from 30 months to 6 years, "Belovezhskaya Pushcha," using AI, was created in 2.5 months.

"Initially, we only had an idea, there wasn't even a script. We wrote it on the fly, adapted it, and immediately developed the visuals based on it. This is how we created a feature-length film in 2.5 months", he shared.

Speaking about why the project was created in such a short period, Oleg Atyakshev noted that the team very much wanted to announce at the global level the creation of the first feature-length animated film using artificial intelligence in Belarus.

The film is planned to be presented at festivals in the future. Mass distribution is also planned subsequently.
