A manual for diagnosing preschool children's speech has been released in Turkmenistan

A new methodological manual titled "Determining the Speech Development of Preschool Children Aged 3–5 Years" has been published. Several copies have been distributed and are already being used in special educational institutions across the country.

Correct and fully developed speech in a child is one of the main indicators of their readiness for school. The development of proper speech is considered extremely important for the child's overall growth and normal development.

The methodological manual includes an introduction, a speech assessment chart, as well as sections containing information about the child, medical history, early speech development, conclusions from the medical-pedagogical group, overall development, assessment of gross and fine motor skills, self-care skills, structure of speech organs, breathing and voice, pronunciation assessment, hearing and sound perception, syllabic structure of words, understanding and articulation of speech, and conclusions from the speech therapist.

Each section presents a method for diagnosing the child's speech. Color illustrations not only enhance the book's appearance but also assist in conducting diagnostic activities for each section.

Carrying out diagnostic work with a child allows for identifying existing speech deficiencies and organizing the appropriate corrective measures. The methodological manual can be useful for specialists in special educational institutions, educators, primary school teachers, as well as parents, as reported on the Ministry of Education's website.
