 The Institute of Artificial Intelligence will appear in Belarus

Belarus plans to create an artificial intelligence institute. This was stated by Oksana Grishkevich, head of the Department of Technical Standardization and Standardization of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic, during a press conference dedicated to the Day of Standardization, BelTA reports.

According to her, the development of the republic in various fields based on artificial intelligence technologies: in healthcare, education, industry, energy, transport, agriculture, tourism, housing and communal services, trade, culture and even in the financial market is provided for in the draft national strategy for sustainable development of the country until 2040.

These areas will be affected by the standardization of the implementation of artificial intelligence. In 2024, 12 national standards have already been introduced in Belarus.

"Of course, in order to develop standardization in the field of artificial intelligence, we will use international standards and implement international best practices. They will provide a solid foundation for the development of technologies and industries," Oksana Grishkevich said, adding that the plans are to identify the national technical committee for standardization TC BY 38 "Digital Transformation" as an expert platform for the development of standards in the field of AI.
