Based on the results of the World Competition for the best emblem of the Year of the Volunteer Movement in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a blossoming flower was chosen as the symbol of the Year.
The new logo represents unity and integrity. The number of petals is also no coincidence - the number seven means development, spirituality and responsibility.
“Each petal is located separately from the others, but together they are a single flower. This is what the main task of the volunteer movement looks like graphically: to be one whole even at a distance,” the Working Group on the Development of Volunteerism in the CIS commented.
The international competition for the best emblem of the Year of the Volunteer Movement in the Commonwealth of Independent States was organized by the Russian Technological University MIREA with the support of the Working Group on the Development of Volunteerism in the CIS. 36 creative authors from Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan took part in it.
The winner was announced at a meeting of the CIS Youth Council.
The Year of the Volunteer Movement in the Commonwealth of Independent States, within the framework of Russia's chairmanship in the organization, is intended to increase the prestige of volunteerism and facilitate the exchange of best practices between public organizations of the participating states.
