Maersk unveils the world's largest container ship powered by green methanol

The Danish corporation AP Moller-Maersk presented the world's largest 350-meter container ship Ane Maersk, powered by “green” methanol. The bulk carrier, built at the shipyard of the South Korean shipbuilding company HD Hyundai Heavy Industries in the city of Ulsan, can accommodate 16,592 containers, TASS reports.

The ship will set off on its maiden voyage in February and will sail between countries in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. According to company representatives, Moller-Maersk plans to carry out a quarter of all transportation volumes using environmentally friendly fuel by the end of the decade.
