 The new ambassador of Brazil received accreditation in Turkmenistan

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Turkmenistan (with residence in Astana) Rubema Antonio Correa Barbosa took up his duties, presenting his credentials to the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova on Wednesday.

The head of the Parliament conveyed congratulations to the diplomat from the President of the country Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who wished him success in his noble mission to strengthen friendly relations and fruitful partnership between the two countries. Cooperation is successfully developing both on a bilateral and multilateral basis and, above all, in the format of major international organizations and structures, the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry quoted the President as saying.

Thanking for the warm welcome provided on Turkmen land, the diplomat stressed that it is a great honor for him to represent Brazil in a state that has gained high international prestige on the world stage thanks to the constructive policy of Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The Ambassador conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the leadership of his country to the President and the entire Turkmen people.

During the discussions, the sides noted that the countries intend to further develop the existing potential for expanding partnership in the trade and economic sphere, in the field of science and education, sports and tourism, as well as the intensification of cultural dialogue, contributing to strengthening the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples.

The Turkmen side informed the guest about the main directions and priorities of Turkmenistan's domestic and foreign policy, large-scale transformations initiated by the head of state, as well as major international projects.

Special emphasis was placed on the socio-economic programs implemented by the President of Turkmenistan aimed at building the potential and diversifying the national economy on an innovative basis, creating modern infrastructure, and steadily increasing the standard of living of the people.

The Ambassador was also told about the structure and multilateral activities of the Turkmen parliament, about the ongoing work on legislative support for reforms in various fields and the exchange of accumulated legislative experience. In this context, the parties expressed their mutual readiness to intensify the inter-parliamentary dialogue, including within the framework of international parliamentary structures.
