Bouygues Turkmen Company develops educational eco-initiative
11.04.2023 | 22:58 |A meeting of the company's employees with the staff of the French school Ecole française MLF took place in the new Ecological Center of Joint Work opened by the Bouygues Turkmen Company. Earlier, the guests of the eco-center were also students of the Turkmen-Russian Pushkin School, Special Educational School No. 21, the Turkmen-Turkish School and representatives of the older age category, that is, residents of Ashgabat who are not indifferent to environmental problems.
The center was created on the initiative of the company's management with the aim of widely attracting attention to environmental problems, organizing educational presentations and various working meetings related to caring for nature and promoting reasonable and responsible eco-behavior.
According to the corporate climate strategy, Bouygues Turkmenistan plans to purposefully reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and by 2030 to reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by almost a third.
The presentations of the Environmental Center are designed in such a way that each of the visitors, regardless of age, can get the necessary information in an accessible and intelligible form, discuss it, ask questions on topics of interest to him, and take part in an exciting thematic quiz. By the way, the building of the new center itself, as its representatives reported, was erected taking into account the most careful attitude to the environment.
The presentation, to which the team of the French school was invited, was conducted by three eco-facilitators – Mammed Fataliyev, head of the carbon footprint Reduction Committee of Bouygues Turkmen, as well as Maria Dmitrieva and Kamalya Yakubova. They talked in an interactive form about human activities, which resulted in water and atmospheric pollution, global warming, deforestation, and desertification of territories. For greater clarity, the guests were invited to determine all the causes and consequences themselves using cards in a playful way.
The participants of the game had to arrange them in the correct order, supporting their "moves" with appropriate comments. After heated discussions, all the cards were lined up in the right order, and a mosaic (the so–called "Climate mural") appeared before the eyes of the participants of the game, composed of elements of the chain "human activity – changes in nature - environmental disasters".
The Ecole française MLF team has passed the environmental literacy test with honor. After the game, the facilitators and guests shared information about their "eco gestures" - such as, for example, using shopping bags for shopping, collecting waste paper, plastic and glass containers, proper disposal of batteries, reasonable water consumption, sorting garbage.
The meeting of the staff of the French school with the specialists of the Carbon Center of the Bouygues Turkmen Company was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Both sides agreed on new meetings, active cooperation and interaction.
