Craft and creative - the new "edition" of the fair of craftsmen in Ashgabat
29.01.2023 | 01:17 |The fair of masters, which once again provided an opportunity for Ashgabat residents to plunge into the world of a creative view of things, was held on Saturday at the French Institute in Turkmenistan.
Valentina Bozhanova, who specializes in creating original dolls and toys, and Anna Loskutova, who presented a line of bags made of jeans, demonstrated their creations at it.
"Creative people have the opportunity to discover the "unknown" facets of known phenomena, so their special view of the everyday world is manifested, which we call creativity," says Tajigul Kurbanova, a member of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan and organizer of the fair, in an interview with ORIENT. - The handicraft sector in Turkmenistan has a rich and diverse significance, including centuries-old traditions with production technologies passed down from generation to generation, and gathering around them people with unique talent and passion for handmade work who are able to come up with new ideas and concepts.
Tajigul Kurbanova is one of the associates of the artisans movement in Turkmenistan, and largely thanks to her and her like-minded enthusiasm, such a format as an art bazaar appeared and successfully developed in the country. Similar handmade fairs were also supported by the French Institute in Turkmenistan.
─ The director of the French Institute suggested that we use the space of this humanitarian mission as a communication center for creative people, - says Tajigul Kurbanova.
And now the next exhibition on this site has become a new discovery – the guests were impressed by both the soulful dolls of Valentina Bozhanova and the exclusive denim bags from Anna Loskutova.
─ I started doing this after I retired, - advised a friend as a hobby, - shared Valentina Bozhanova. - The first works received a good response, and I liked it myself, so I got involved in this case.
In parallel with the "doll" vernissage, an exhibition of handmade bags made of jeans from Anna Loskutova also unfolded. She takes worn jeans as the basis of her products and breathes new life into them, giving them a fresh and unusual reading.
At the current art bazaar there were other works of decorative and applied art, the authors of which invested in them an original aesthetic in line with the folk art tradition.
─ All masters are united by a common goal. Creating their work, they want to give them joy, pleasant impressions and emotions, this is what inspires and motivates them, gives an incentive for life," the organizer of the fair, Tajigul Kurbanova, summed up.
Over a cup of invigorating coffee or hot tea, a traditional exchange of opinions takes place: masters share stories of the creation of their creations and discuss plans for the future, and visitors tell about their impressions, and new ideas are born in this live communication.
