Turkmenistan's Chess Federation Cup with the participation of the world's chess star -international grandmaster Nigel Short from England, has conluded.
A student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports, candidate master of sports Amanmuhammet Khommadov won the main tournament of the Turkmenistan Chess Federation Cup, which was held from October 3 to 8 at the Specialized Chess and Checkers School in Ashgabat.
The long-awaited tournament for the Cup of the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan has started in the Ashgabat Chess and Checkers School, bringing together 285 enthusiastic chess players!
Rustam Rahmankulov, a student at the Central Ukrainian National Technical University and a proud citizen of Turkmenistan, secured a gold medal at the Ukrainian Combat Jiu-Jitsu Cup. The event took place from September 27 to 29 in the scenic Carpathian region of western Ukraine.

At the 45th World Chess Olympiad, which concluded today in Budapest, Hungary, both the men's and women's national teams were winners in their repestive categories. The men scored 15 points out of a possible 22 to win in category "B", while the women achieved 14 points in category "C".
Thanks to the victories of International Master Saparmyrat Atabayev and Grandmaster Meylis Annaberdiyev on the 1st and 2nd boards respectively, as well as a draw by Allayar Shirliev on the 4th board, the Turkmen national team defeated Iceland (seed number - 46; average rating - 2483) with the score 2.5 to 1.5 in the 8th round of the ongoing World Chess Olympiad in Budapest (Hungary).
