Oriented on making people closer

Turkmen Forum in collaboration with Turkmenistan’s national oil companies has introduced a new conference focused on environmental issues during hydrocarbon developments, which will take place on June 23 at the Yildiz hotel in Ashgabat.

It is no secret that climate change and an increase in the frequency and intensity of droughts in Central Asia pose a serious threat to ecosystems in arid and semi-arid regions. Drought increases the accumulation of salts in the upper layers of the soil and activates the processes of salinization of agricultural land.

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Turkmenistan held a meeting with young eco-activists to familiarize them with the activities of UNDP in Turkmenistan in the area of environment and climate change and engage youth in the initiatives to raise environmental awareness and promote environmentally friendly behavior among population.

Turkish company Çalik Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. won a tender for the construction of the first hybrid solar-wind power plant with a capacity of 10 MW in Turkmenistan.
