On the night of August 12-13, from 11 PM to 5 AM, the inhabitants of the Northern hemisphere of the Earth will be able to enjoy the show of the peak of the Perseid Starfall — one of the oldest known astronomical shows. The name the starfall Perseid received from the constellation Perseus: watching it from the Earth, it seems that the stars fall from there. But in fact, the Starfall Perseid – is a meteor plume of the Swift-Tuttle comet, to which our Earth annually passes. The smallest particles of dust from the plume burn in the Earth's atmosphere, forming this "star rain". Our planet is in a meteor shower from July 17 to August 24, but most of the shooting stars will be seen on the night of August 12 to 13. Astronomers predict a bright show: in the sky you can see from 60 to 100 meteors per hour, and in the morning their number will only increase. Unfortunately, they will fly very quickly, so you need to make up compact desires in advance. There is no need for special devices to watch the starfall, it will be visible to the naked eye. But to get the most pleasure of the astronomical show, it is better to go to the countryside. The “newborn” Moon will be a nice bonus - its bright light will not interfere watching. The weather will also please: meteorologists promise a clear sky and +20-22°C at night. It is only necessary to take hot tea and jackets with long sleeves. To not only see the Starfall, but also to shoot it in memory, you will need a camera. Preferably, SLR camera. Necessarily, with the ability to set the shutter speed manually and with low noise at high ISO sensitivity values. Don’t forget to bring a tripod, or you risk to pull tire hands and do not make any decent picture. In order to take a picture of the entire sky and not miss any falling stars, use a lens with a shorter focal length. After arrival and install the camera on a tripod, adjust its setting. The focus on the lens – to infinity. The diaphragm as open as possible. Holding time at least 30 seconds. The ISO value minimum. And don't forget to enjoy the starfall. Do not only catch the falling star in the lens. The essential thing is to enjoy the beautiful star show and get pleasure and a good mood for many days ahead.
