 Turkmen students participate in "Memory train" project in Belarus and Russia

Representatives from Turkmenistan's education sector have joined the international cultural and educational project, "Memory Train," taking place in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus from June 20 to July 5, 2025.

The Turkmen delegation is led by Mekan Annaev, director of Ashgabat Secondary School No. 64. The team comprises nine students: one from Ashgabat, one from Arkadag, one from the Saparmurat Turkmenbashy Ashgabat Specialized Boarding School, one from the A.S. Pushkin Joint Turkmen-Russian Secondary General Education School, and one student from each of the velayats — Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, and Mary.

The "Memory Train" program features extensive excursions to historical and cultural sites.

June 21, Brest:

On the first day, the delegation attended the "Start" project opening ceremony in Brest. Participants visited the "Brest Fortress – Hero-Fortress" and "Victory Train" exhibition areas.

June 22, Brest:

Alongside N.I. Kochanov, Chairman of the Council of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, participants laid flowers at Dialogue Square as part of the "Memory Train" commemorative event. Later, they visited historical monuments reflecting military-historical scenes of the Brest Fortress in the "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" National Park.

June 23, Grodno:

In Grodno, walking tours of the "New Fortress," "Old Fortress," and Kalozha Church were conducted.

June 24, Minsk:

The fourth day was dedicated to visiting the "Khatyn" memorial complex, the Minsk State Palace of Children and Youth, the National Library of Belarus, and the Social Security Center for Education of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus.

June 25, Gomel: The delegation visited the Gomel Military History Complex and watched performances by the palace and park ensembles "Partisan Krinichka," "Spartak," "Gomel," as well as Olympians from the Gomel Regional Athletics Center.

June 26, Vitebsk and Polotsk:

This day included excursions to the Vitebsk-Polotsk Confectionery Factory, the Marc Chagall Museum, and the First State Children and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve in Vitebsk. The group also visited the "Ilva" travel agency, the Savior and St. Euphrosyne Church, Euphrosyne Polotskaya Polotsk State University, and the Polotsk Cadet School. Participants familiarized themselves with the architectural monuments of the Polotsk Museum of Ancient Russian Sophistry and watched the choreographic theatrical performance "Polotsk: Ancient and Eternally Young".

The "Memory Train" project offers Turkmen schoolchildren a unique opportunity to connect with the history and culture of two friendly nations.
