 Xi Jinping Meets Representatives of Various Ethnic Groups and Social Sectors in Tibet

On August 20, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with representatives of various ethnic groups and social sectors of the Tibet Autonomous Region (Southwest China).

Xi Jinping, who is also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his sincere greetings and best wishes to people of all ethnic groups in Tibet.

Upon arrival at the venue, Xi warmly greeted the participants, spoke with representatives, and posed for a group photo with them.

On the same day, Xi also held separate meetings with officials assigned to assist Tibet’s development, current and former officials of the region, and representatives of local law enforcement. He also had discussions with patriotic religious figures and members of monastery management committees.

In the afternoon, Xi met with senior military officers holding the rank of colonel and above, stationed in Lhasa, as well as distinguished members of the civilian staff. On behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the Central Military Commission, Xi extended sincere greetings to all officers and soldiers stationed in Tibet and posed for a commemorative photo with those present.
