Parrot from China sets Guinness world record
19.08.2025 | 14:10 |A parrot named Xiaogui from China's Henan province has set a Guinness World Record for color recognition, as reported by Kazinform, citing Guinness World Records.
For the challenge, ten plastic containers and an equal number of colored straw balls were placed in front of the clever bird. The task was to put each ball into the container of the corresponding color.
The order of the balls was intentionally mixed up to make the task more difficult. Nevertheless, the parrot methodically moved along the line, picked up each ball, and placed it in the correct container. A particularly impressive moment was when Xiaogui was able to distinguish between two close shades of pink.
In the end, the extraordinary pet, guided by its owner Qin Feng, correctly identified and sorted 10 different colors in the right order in just 33.50 seconds.
Qin Feng shared that he first met the parrot in 2020 when it was still a chick and needed to be hand-fed. A strong bond formed between them. After noticing the bird's interest in toys, especially colorful balls, the owner began training it to distinguish colors and sort objects.
