Iran Announces Caspian Summit in 2026

This was announced by Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani during his speech at the conference “The Caspian Sea – the Sea of Peace and Friendship”, which was held in the city of Turkmenbashi in honor of the International Caspian Day.
“I am pleased to announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran will host the 7th Caspian Summit in August 2026. We hope that on the International Caspian Day and the 20th anniversary of the entry into force of the Tehran Convention, we will proudly welcome the presidents of the Caspian states in Tehran,” the TASS agency quotes the diplomat as saying.
In addition, the Iranian Ambassador announced plans to hold the first international meeting of the heads of the Caspian Sea coastal regions in 2025. The goal of this initiative is to create a sustainable platform for dialogue and exchange of experience, strengthen economic and regional diplomacy, and identify opportunities for cross-border cooperation.
According to Rouzbehani, the meeting will be an important step in implementing joint projects in the areas of trade, industry, agriculture, environmental protection and transport. Invitations and the program of the event are planned to be sent to all Caspian countries in the near future.
