Meeting in Minsk: Turkmenistan and Vietnam Strengthen Bilateral Dialogue
11.08.2025 | 22:28 |On August 11, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Minsk hosted a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus Nazarguly Shagulyev and his new Vietnamese counterpart, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Belarus Nguyen Van Trung.
During the meeting, the diplomats held a constructive dialogue dedicated to strengthening bilateral and international cooperation. The parties noted the positive dynamics of relations in all key areas: from economics and politics to culture and humanitarian ties.
Ambassador Shagulyev emphasized that Turkmenistan is a reliable and honest partner, always ready for mutually beneficial cooperation. During the conversation, he especially highlighted the significant initiatives of Turkmenistan on the world stage. In particular, the Ambassador recalled that, on the initiative of the country and with the unanimous support of the UN General Assembly, 2025 was declared the International Year of Peace and Trust. This date has special significance, since on December 12 Turkmenistan celebrates the 30th anniversary of its neutral status, recognized by the international community as an important factor in regional stability and sustainable development.
In addition, the Ambassador informed his colleague about the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) held in Turkmenistan from August 5 to 8. He noted that the forum had become a key platform for deepening cooperation aimed at solving specific development problems, reducing logistics costs and strengthening integration into the global economy.
The Ambassador of Vietnam thanked for the warm welcome and meaningful meeting. He confirmed his country's interest in further expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan, emphasizing the importance of both bilateral dialogue and interaction in multilateral formats. Nguyen Van Trung highly appreciated Turkmenistan's peacekeeping initiatives and its contribution to strengthening international trust.
