Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium and the European Union Sapar Palvanov warmly welcomed the young guests. The conversation took place in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The Ambassador introduced the students to the fundamentals of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, emphasizing the central role of permanent neutrality, recognized by the UN in 1995. Particular attention was paid to Turkmenistan’s current initiatives, including the hosting of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) in Avaza, as well as the significance of 2025, declared the International Year of Peace and Trust.

Ambassador Palvanov also reminded the students of the important role of Turkmenistan in the history of the Great Silk Road. He said that caravan routes connecting China and Europe passed through cities such as Merv, Amul, Sarakhs, Dehistan, and others. Today, Turkmenistan continues to fulfill this historical mission, acting as a reliable transit hub in Eurasia. This continuity, the Ambassador emphasized, formed the basis of the country's modern transport diplomacy strategy.
